Revd John Ezeike and Wife Bless With Triplet After 13 Years Of Waiting

Revd John Ifeanyi Ezeike took to his facebook page to share this good  new, he said:
"God has shown me great favour and mercy today the 19th day of October 2016. In 2003, God led me to marry my good and humble wife, as a young graduate of Uniben serving my NYSC, but ltitle did we know what will befall both of us. For 13 good years we waited, we cried, we were hopeless and sometimes dejected, we had mental torture for we could not have a child in the marriage.Read more after cut....

But our faith in God kept us hoping that one day God will answer our prayer. As human we got to a stage that we felt all hope of having babies is gone, even at this stage we maintained our close walk with God that even if He did not give us any child we were ready to go childless and still serve Him so long we make heaven at last. But then it was a tortuous moment.

God today in His in his faithfulness has decided to bless us with our own babies of triplet, two boys and a girl on this 19th day of October, 2016, after 13 years of waiting. Just thank this Great God for His goodness and mercy."

Mother And Daughter Die In Car Accident, Both Buried On The Day The Daughter Was Supposed To Wed In Bauchi

23 year old Victoria Hallan and her 50 year old mother, Naomi perished in a Fatal accident that occurred along the Jalingo-Bauchi expressway on October 12th, just four days to her wedding slated for October 15th. Victoria, her mother and friend Roseline were heading to Bauchi state to put finishing touches to her wedding when the vehicle they were commuting in suffered a burst tyre.

Victoria's mother and friend died on the spot while Victoria was unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where according to her father, Hallan Bawah, nurses at the Cottage Hospital in Bambam, Gombe State, refused to treat her because they did not know who would pay for her treatment. Few hours later, Victoria died. Both mother and daughter were laid to rest on Saturday October 15th which was meant to be her wedding day. Read the sad story below..

The death of Victoria Hallan, an indigene of Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State in an auto accident on Wednesday October 12, 2016, just four days to her wedding has turned the mood of her family and friends from rejoicing and singing to deep mourning and sober reflection on the uncertainty of life.
The sadness that enveloped the atmosphere following the news of Victoria’s death swings from anguish to a state of despair  as it was learnt that she died along with her beloved mother in the ill-fated bus that was conveying them from Jalingo in Taraba State to Bauchi to put finishing touches to her wedding preparations.

Victoria, a National Diploma graduate in Science Laboratory Technology from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, according to her friends who spoke fondly of her, was a beautiful person inside and outside.
She had a pointed nose, a big charming smile, elegance, carriage, and captivating eyes, they toldSaturday Sun. She graduated in 2015 after which she and her fiancé, Aminchi David, 34, agreed to tie the nuptial knots. They fixed Saturday October 15, 2016 for their wedding in Bauchi. Before that, Victoria’s send forth was slated for Sunday October 9 at Sabon Gari in Jalingo. “I can’t believe that my jewel is gone,” Aminchi  decked in his blue wedding suit with his best man Armstrong decked in suit with same colour and suit,  told Saturday Sun after  Victoria’s funeral, as he fought back tears.
“She was a paragon of beauty. I can’t believe she is dead. She was so kind and organised. It is so painful,” Aminchi counted his loss.

Friends recalled that the late Victoria, 24 and her mother, Naomi, 50 cut a picture of happiness during the send forth. As other family members and friends shared in their happiness, there was no premonition that mother and daughter were destined to die same day and place in one of the most painful deaths one can imagine.

“She was enjoying one of the happiest days of her life,” one of her blossom friends told our correspondent of Victoria’s disposition during the send forth. Sadly, it was to be Victoria’s last happy moment in life as death came calling after the ceremony

“It is painful,” the friend broke down and cried profusely. “She looked ravishing in her yellow colour lace with blue headgear to match. Victoria was gap-toothed and when she smiled it was so beautiful,” said her childhood friend who has not stopped crying.
“Victoria’s chief bridesmaid Joan Joshua fell ill when the news reached her that her best friend had died in a motor accident,” Armstrong said.

After four years of courtship, the intending couple agreed for the wedding to take place at COCIN church in Tudun Maizamani on Bayara road in Bauchi metropolis.

Send forth ceremonies are significant part of the marriage process in northern Nigeria, particularly among Christians. The event is usually brief. While some fix it in the evening, others prefer to have it done at night.  Victoria’s own was done after church service in the afternoon. Prayers and gifts were showered on her. Pieces of advice on how to build her matrimonial home and enjoy the union came handy from older family members and friends.

Victoria’s send forth was an opportunity for her childhood friends to get together to rejoice before she would travel to Bauchi to be joined in matrimony with her fiancé in church.

Her father ASP Hallan Bawah and Naomi, his wife of 29 years, were  there to support their daughter. Her elder brother and firstborn who worked in Jigawa State was always there to support while Rejoice, her immediate younger sister and a split image of Victoria was in Bauchi putting finishing touches to preparations. While Rejoice stayed back in Bauchi to help coordinate the wedding plans, Victoria’s chief bridesmade Joan travelled with the bride to Jalingo. Joan and others who attended from Bauchi leftMonday morning while Victoria, her mother and Blessing, Rejoice’s friend planned to leave Jalingo on Wednesday. That fateful morning of October 13, Victoria and her mother departed Taraba for Bauchi for the wedding on Saturday. Those coming from far had embarked on the journey to Bauchi  for the wedding.

Hallan said after the send forth, he watched as his wife and daughter left the house  in Sabodn Gari Jalingo on their way to Bauchi. He said: “I was with them till they left. They boarded a commercial bus around 3:00 that afternoon. After some hours I was expecting that they have reached Bauchi. I called my wife but the line was not going. Later I called my daughter’s number and a Federal Road Safety official picked and introduced himself. When I inquired why my wife or daughter could not pick the calls he told me that they were involved in a fatal accident.

He told me that two women and a man died on the spot. He told me the place and I told him I was coming” Hallan said he left Jalingo by 4pm and when he got to the scene he was told that the victims had been admitted at the Cottage Hospital in Bambam, Gombe State. He learnt that the accident was as a result of a burst tyre.

“When I got there I met my wife she was already dead,” he recalled. He struggled to stop himself from breaking down,  he was  anxious to see his daughter and prayed nothing bad happened to her.
The grieving Hallan said: “When I saw her, she was unconscious. Her hand was broken. There was no treatment being carried out on her. I asked the staff of the hospital why they abandoned my daughter like that and their reply was if they treat her they were not sure whether the money would be paid. This broke my heart. How can someone’s life be so cheap. I was crying to know that my daughter could have been saved and yet they refused to save her life because of money”

He said that the officials of the NURTW went to get ambulance that would rush my daughter to the Federal Medical Centre in Gombe for proper medical attention but before they could return his daughter had given up the ghost.
“Another girl who was a friend of my second daughter, Rejoice also died in the accident. Her name was Blessing. She was accompanying my daughter and wife and so they travelled together. Blessing also died on the spot.”

David, the groom to be was feeling on top of the world on that Wednesday morning,  when he received a phone call from Victoria. “I had gone to Kafin Madaki around 6am and was returning to Bauchi when I received her call at past 8am that they had left Jalingo.

“She asked me where I was and I told her I was in Kafin Madaki in Ganjuwa and she was surprised and asked me what took me there but I laughed and I told her I went to see my aunt and she replied that she was on her way. I was expecting her call around 2pm. I tried her number but it was switched off.

“I became worried and told a friend Bami that her phone was switched off and it was unusual. By 3:30pm, her younger sister Rejoice called me and informed me that she heard that Victoria and their mother were involved in an accident. That her friend Blessing was also with them
“I then called their father who told me that he heard and that he was already on his way to the place that the accident happened. It was Bambam in Gombe State. I called my sister who lived there with her husband. She later confirmed that my Victoria and her mother and Blessing had indeed died”
David said he doesn’t know how to live with the loss of Victoria.

“She was everything to me. She was beautiful, kind, God-fearing. Her death is a great loss to myelife. When my father in law told me what happened on phone, I said I am finished. But I give God the glory. In life you plan but God knows everything. I am still seeing everything as if it is a joke. That Vicky my love will be with me. That is why I am wearing my blue wedding suit. Blue is Victoria’s favourite colour. She chose blue as our colour and I am honouring her today by wearing it. I try not to be sad but it is going to be alright”

The funeral of Victoria and her mother on Saturday October 15, 2016 at the Christian Cemetery in Kagadam, Bauchi attracted a large crowd of Sympathisers. As the bodies were lowered into mother earth, the preacher urged everyone present to live a life of service to God and humanity.

Nigerian Lady Loses Fiancé Operations Manager At Startimes To Fire Accident Few Months To Wedding [Photos]

A Startimes Operations Manager in Minna, Niger state named Damilare Oladapo Oluwafeyisan, 35 gruesomely passed away on Monday, 17th, October, 2016 after suffering a severe fire accident from an electric generator explosion.

According to his fiancée - Miss Temitope Makinde who spoke to Tori News, Mr. Oluseyisan fondly called Dre was assisting his neighbour to switch off the seemingly faulty generating set around 12:15am on Sunday, the 16th of October when the device inexplicably caught fire which rapidly spread across his body.

Dre writhed in unbearable anguish as efforts were made to put off the fire that had enveloped his entire body sparing his face alone.
The victim was swiftly rushed to the General Hospital Minna, Niger state where he finally gave up the ghost at 9:30pm the following day (Monday) due to the alleged negligence, inadequate medical apparatus and gross incompetence of medical officials on duty.

Miss Temitope who narrated the tortuous ordeal of Dre to Tori News amidst uncontrollably tears and gnashing of teeth believes the hospital apparently exacerbated the already critical condition of her lover, who was already making frantic preparations to marry her in May, 2017.

"My Dre shouldn't have died at all. No doctor was available to treat him. The available nurses only placed him on drips with no concrete treatment procedures while he laboured to survive in excruciating distress" Temitope said in a heavy voice.

"In fact, you will not believe the hospital had no drugs at all and other medical kits for accident victims. The nurses kept referring us to buy stuffs outside the hospital premises" she continued.

"It was crystal clear that Dre was dying as his mode of breathing changed and his heartbeat was irregular while he rolled from one side of the bed to the other in unbearable discomfort" Temitope averred as tears rolled down her cheeks.

When Tori News probed further about the depth of the medical treatment, she revealed painkillers were administered to him to suppress his turbulent health condition but they proved ineffectual as the patient remained totally unstable.

"He laid on his sick bed scantily clad at an open ward in the full glare of the public after his burned skin was peeled. His clothes and bed sheets had to be changed recurrently as they were always drenched in his body fluids"

"He became an object of sympathy as different people stared at his severe skin burns with compassion"

"What hurts me most is that no doctor was available to attend to my fiancé as he started to die slowly due to loss of energy"

After deliberations, Dre's eldest brother – Tunde, Temitope and other loved ones who were with him at the emergency ward decided to transfer him to a standard hospital in Abuja with improved medical facilities as his resounding cries rented the air of the ward without adequate medical attention.

Their decision was impeded by a bureaucratic procedure - authorized referral letter from the medical doctor in charge who was nowhere near his office from the afternoon period till the evening thereby leaving the hapless Dre to the cold hands of death.

According to Temitope, all efforts to reach the medical doctor proved futile till Dre gradually started dying. The handsome and promising young man who observed his National Youth Service programme alongside Temitope in the year 2011 at Akwete, Ukwa East Local Government Area - Abia State was finally pronounced dead at 9:30pm on Monday after he lost consciousness.

Temitope, a civil servant based in Kano wishes she could wake up from the nightmare of her lover's abrupt end as the family mourns him endlessly.

"If tears could restore the life of a dead person, Dre would have been back with me by now as I can't just be consoled about the loss" she lamented.

"I want people especially the government to know the importance of having adequate health facilities and well trained medical personnel in the country. Many promising lives of talented heads have been lost to the absence of adequate medical facilities in government hospitals."

"My Dre was very intelligent, hardworking, always touching lives, smiling and rarely gets angry but I have lost him" she concluded.

Dre has since been buried at a cemetery in Minna by his family on Tuesday, the 18th of October, 2016. Dre was the 5th son of his mother who had six boys hailed from Ijebu in Ogun State but he grew up in Kano city.

Temitope met Dre during their service year in the South-eastern part of Nigeria and the duo started off as close friends for over 5 years before they later fell in love with each other in August this year.

I Hired Assassins For N500,000 To Kill My Husband Out Of Frustration

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 41-year-old woman, Chika Orji, for allegedly paying a hired assassin N500,000 to kill her husband.
According to Vanguard, Orji was arrested by operatives from the Area ‘J’ Command, Ajah, for hiring the hitmen to kill her husband of 14 years over a disagreement which led to their separation.Read more after cut...

It was gathered that the plan was truncated after one of the assassins, Bright Ikechukwu, was arrested while attempting to break into Orji's house at Jakande Estate in the area and during interrogation, confessed that Chika sent them to murder her husband.
One of those the woman contracted was identified as Ekene, a carpenter who used to work for her husband.

Confessing to her crime during interrogation, Chika, a mother of four, said she was frustrated by her husband and only sent the thugs to teach him a lesson and not to kill him.
“We got married 14 years ago and are blessed with three daughters and a son. All of a sudden, my husband became a wife beater.

He would beat me leaving me with a swollen face and would also threaten to kill me. He chased me out of the house three years ago.
I made several efforts to get my children back, part of which was to report him to human rights offices for settlement.

But he did not honour any of the invitations. Both families have made attempts to settle us, but he would not listen.
He was served with a court warrant over the issue, but he also refused to show up. Along the line, he sold the house we both built for N85 million, but never gave me any dime.
He also stopped our children from visiting me and any attempt to see them always resulted in beating. Out of frustration, I told Ekene, our carpenter, to beat him up.
I did not pay him or hire anyone to kill him. I am a frustrated woman and I am sorry for everything.”

But countering Chika's statement, Ikechukwu, a Delta State-based plumber, told the police
that she paid the gang to kill her husband.
“I live in Ogwuashi-Ukwu, Delta State. My friend, Ekene, said he had a job for me. This was three weeks ago.
I hurriedly came to Lagos and stayed with him in Ajah, where I met another of his friend, Samuel. He told us that Madam Chika promised him N500,000 to kill her husband.
Thereafter, he told Samuel to take me to Mr. Orji’s house, to identify the target. We went there and hid inside a tricycle, waiting for Mr. Orji, whom we were told always came to open the gate himself whenever he was returning home.
But on that day, it was his daughter that opened the gate. We went back the next day, yet it was his daughter that opened the gate again.
By the time we went the third day, it was Mr. Orji that opened the gate himself. The plan was to rush to him and stab him eight times in the chest, rib and neck.
But Samuel who was supposed to stab him went to buy cigarette and by the time he came back, our target had gone inside and shut the gate.
Out of frustration, I went back home and told Ekene to give me my own share of the money that I was going home. But he stated that Madam Chika would only pay after the job was done.
I decided to go to Mr. Orji’s apartment to steal instead, to get some money to go back to Delta State.
But as I was trying to jump the fence, somebody raised an alarm which attracted members of a vigilante in the area, who apprehended me. I had to open up when they almost killed me.”

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Dolapo Badmos, has confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are still on the suspects would be charged to court soon while efforts are on to arrest the fleeing assassins.

Wanted former Defence Minister, Obanikoro, Arrives Nigeria at Last.

According to a report by ThisDay Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of Defence, will arrive the shores of Nigeria from the United States of America, two years after he left the country to pursue a postgraduate degree at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.

THISDAY has it on good authority that the former minister, whose family members have had very rough engagements with the EFCC over different allegations involving money decided to return to the country after the commission formally extended an invitation, but not before breaking into his home in Park View, Ikoyi, months back.
Obanikoro, who is expected to touch ground early this morning in Abuja, the nation’s capital enroute London Heathrow, was said to have stayed away first, because no formal invitation had been extended to him, noting that all that had been said and reported about him were not in official capacity.
But as soon as a formal invitation was sent to him, his lawyers were said to have promised the commission that he would honour it, more so that he had nothing to hide.
Apart from his studies, one other reason he was said to have stayed back in the US was to address some health issues, sources claimed was very crucial.
He was recently said to have had a spinal cord surgery.
Family sources said although Obanikoro had reservations about coming home to confront the allegations given the commission’s penchant for disregarding the rule of law, he however gave in when the need to clear his name became even more compelling.
More importantly was an email allegedly sent to him by the US Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton campaign group, following the boasting by the Republican Candidate, Donald Trump that he would jail her if he became president.
Thus, while sharing her thoughts with Obanikoro being a supporter of the Democratic party, Clinton, THISDAY learnt, wrote in the email: “Muhammed, last night, Donald Trump said that if he were elected president, he’d target Hillary and said she would be in jail if he were in charge.
“Threatening to jail political opponents isn’t what we do in America, Muhammed. Those are the words of totalitarianism.”
Obanikoro, sources said, was moved by those words of Clinton and her team and decided to return to the country to clear the mess once and for all.
A family source who claimed to be privy to some of the facts of the case claimed the commission had deliberately slanted the facts of the case in order to have a reason to bring Obanikoro in, otherwise, the money in question was not in anyway connected to the arms deal but from the imprest accruable to the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
He also claimed that some of the disputed funds were used when Lagos was under the threat of Boko Haram, while the rest were given to Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose and Senator Iyiola Omisore to prosecute their elections in 2014.
Efforts to reach Obanikoro did not yield as family members said he would not speak until he is done with the EFCC. But THISDAY gathered that he would be led to the commission by his two lawyers, Mr. Lawal Pedro and Mr. James Onoja, both Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN).

I sat WASCE 7 times, I’m now an international figure in creative arts —Olakunle Adewale Joel

Olakunle Adewale Joel, in this interview by RONKE SANYA, tells his tale of how he rose from the status of a dull and seemingly hopeless Mushin boy to become a mentor, teacher of young children and creative artist of international reputejoel3
You are many personalities rolled into one. How do you combine all these responsibilities of being a poet, publisher, writer, public speaker, art analyst, graphics designer, creative writer, and being the creative Director of Tender Arts successfully
 joel3
This can be said to be as a result of the fact that I am very passionate about what I do. Everything I do is centered on arts. I discovered my passion for writing, talking, drawing, and designing and I gave it much attention. Being talented calls for a serious responsibility and giving attention to achieving desired results within the time frame. This involves being serious minded. Focusing on one thing at a time has really helped me in achieving milestone achievements. So through self-discovery and set goals, I have been able to strike a balance and achieve success in what I do.

You seem also passionate about teaching children arts, most especially the girl child.

Oh yes! Heaven knows that I love children. Maybe it is one of the traits I inherited from my late dad who was so popular for his love for children and youths in the neighbourhood. I am very passionate about teaching children creative arts because arts and artists are not given much regards to our society. Artists are considered failures and unserious set of persons, this is why I am so involved in helping children to develop their artistic skills to achieve greatness with their God-given talents.
joel3
Interestingly, while I was still in full time art teaching, some of my pupils achieved a lot as budding artists. I always inspire them to be the best as young artists. They have participated in local and international art competitions and exhibitions and have won national awards. One of them is 10-year-old Ayomikun Omoyiola, who was in 2014 invited by the Federal Government of Nigeria to receive a Peace Award through an art work she did.  It was a great moment for me to see her being given a national award as a young artist. Ayomikun is one of the young artists I have trained who has excelled at what she does. I felt fulfilled that my efforts were not wasted. For me it was also a validation of advocacy for art education.  This gave me the privilege of meeting the former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and also the President of  the European Union,  Manuel Barroso. There is no limit to what a girl can achieve if she is empowered and given the required back-up to achieve greatness.
I have come to a realise that we have a world that treats girls as second class citizens. We must get rid of behaviours and attitudes that put girls in a tight corner from fulfilling their God-given potential.  Any society, organisation or individual that does not provide opportunities for girls to learn is a disappointment to humanity. We must not be afraid of what girls can become if we give them the right tools and access to learning. I see girls who will contribute to national development and the progress of Africa as artists.
Other competitions which my protégés have participated and won include David Shepherd Wild Life Art Competition and Exhibition, United Kingdom, Nigeria Centenary Painting and Poetry Competition, among others.

You have been involved in numerous art education, art advocacy, charity art exhibitions among others, what inspires you and motivates you to be involved in all these health-related activities?

My dream is become the biggest inspiration to African children and youths by giving hope and inspiring change in communities. I believe that art is a tool for social transformation. I want to help young people become the very best in life, have hope and reason to live. That is why in recent times I have been very much involved in ICEHA’s Healing Through Art (art therapy) for survivors of Boko haram insurgency in the North East of Nigeria, Also children and young persons living with the sickle-Cell anemia, children and young persons living with cancer and Down syndrome.

Tell us more about Olakunle Joel?
I am the ninth child in the family of 14 children. I was born and brought up in Mushin, Lagos. I attended Mainland Model Primary School, Mushin; St. Joseph Boys Secondary School, Surulere; Auchi Polythecnic, Auchi, where I studied painting and general arts and Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, where I specialised in art history and painting. I also attended Tulane University, New Orleans, USA, where I studied civic leadership. I started serious art during my teenage years working on comics, Bible characters and creative writings. I am a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
I do share this testimony at every given opportunity to challenge and inspire young people that I wrote the West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) seven times in seven years before I made it to the university, but now, I have to my credit the Mandela Washington Fellowship Award and have received special recommendations for my creative arts engagements.
My mother was a food vendor by the road-side. I grew up hawking kerosene, sachet water and nylon bags to assist her. Unfortunately, I lost her three months after I graduated from OAU. I have worked as a labourer at construction sites, I have been a bus conductor, newspaper vendor, among many others. I never imagined that I could ever go beyond the secondary school level. I am grateful to God for the privilege of being a better man today. Today, I am happily married to Mopelola.

Words of advice for young Nigerians hoping to make a breakthrough someday.
Take responsibility for your future, if you don’t want to end up as a failure. Stop blaming your past, start blessing you present so that you can be a blessing in the future. You can make it only if you dare!
